EMDR
Therapy
with Brad Wolf, LCSW
in person + virtual in Rockville, Md
I know EMDR from both sides - I’ve done EMDR myself, and I understand how powerful it is.
Has talk therapy only gotten you so far?
Are you tired of anxiety, recurring doubts, or the same painful thoughts?
Does your mind understand something is over, but your body still reacts like it’s happening now?
Trauma isn’t always one big event. Sometimes it’s the slow build over years: feeling unseen in childhood, relationships that left lasting wounds, pressure to perform. Patterns that once helped you survive can quietly keep you stuck long after the danger has passed. EMDR helps your brain and body process those experiences so they no longer control how you feel day-to-day.

Clients Come To Me For
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to benefit from EMDR.
We’ll take time to build the calm and understanding needed to do the work well.
How EMDR Therapy
With Me Works
Together, we’ll look at the negative thoughts or experiences you’re having about yourself and begin working to rewire them.
Through EMDR training and my clinical experience, we can start to reduce symptoms so you feel better and see yourself with more clarity.
The EMDR Process
-
Our early sessions focus on trust and stability. You will learn to recognize when your nervous system becomes activated and how to calm your body before things spiral.
-
We explore your trauma timeline by noticing what your body and mind bring forward. There is no right or wrong way. We follow your internal cues.
-
We process experiences gradually so they lose their emotional intensity. You will still remember what happened, but it will no longer feel like it is happening right now.
-
There is no fixed timeline. Some people notice relief right away, while others move more slowly depending on their experiences and goals.
Modalities I Use
-
Helps process painful experiences that still feel active, so they have less control over your thoughts, body, and emotions.
-
Helps you understand how early relationships shaped your patterns, so you can respond with more awareness now.
-
Helps identify negative cognitions and install more balanced, positive beliefs about yourself.
-
Helps you understand different parts of yourself, especially the parts that protect, doubt, avoid, or feel overwhelmed.
-
Helps clarify what you want to change and build momentum without pressure or judgment.
After EMDR With Me,
Clients Report:
More calm
Less self-doubt
Clearer perspective
Better self-acceptance
Softer self-talk
Fewer spirals
More steadiness
As therapy begins to work, clients often notice changes in how they think, feel, and respond to themselves.
About Brad Wolf, LCSW
Hi, I’m Brad Wolf, LCSW.
I work with people who want to make tangible changes and are ready for honest, down-to-earth support. I have completed a number of depth trauma trainings, and I know what recovery can look like when therapy moves with care, structure, and real connection.
Sessions with me are collaborative and direct. We’ll talk openly, learn what is driving your patterns, and build momentum toward a life that feels more balanced and connected.
Outside the office, I’m a husband, dad of three, and lifelong DC sports fan who loves traveling and exploring history. I’ve been to over 15 countries and still enjoy a good road trip out West. If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d be honored to connect.
