I see clients in person at my office in Rockville and online anywhere in Maryland.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker, and I work with individuals and couples.

Below, I’ll cover getting here, what people from Silver Spring often come in with, what I work with, and when someone closer might be a better fit.

Getting here from Silver Spring

My office is at 27 Wood Lane in Rockville.

If you don’t drive, Silver Spring and Rockville are both on the Red Line, so you can get here by Metro without changing trains.

Still, a trip across the county every week adds up. Online sessions are the same length and the same work, and you skip the trip. Online therapy in Maryland explains how they work.

Some people like coming in anyway, and that’s great. If being in the room matters to you, the office is there.

If you’re not sure which would work better, that’s a good thing to talk through on the free fifteen-minute consultation call.

What Silver Spring tends to bring into the room

Silver Spring sits right between DC and Prince George’s County, and a lot of the people I see from here live their week across those lines.

A week that crosses lines. Plenty of people here live in Maryland, work in DC, and have family or friends over in Prince George’s County. Your week can touch three different places before Wednesday, and it’s easy to feel like you’re never fully settled in any of them.

Finding a private hour. If you live in an apartment, have roommates, or have kids at home, the hard part of online therapy usually isn’t the technology. It’s finding a room with a door that closes. People make it work in a few ways: sitting in a parked car, wearing headphones, or booking a time when the place is empty. If privacy is what’s in your way, we can figure it out together.

What I work with

Individual therapy for anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, anger, trauma, addiction, and compulsive behavior. Each one has its own page that explains what the work looks like.

Couples therapy for relationships. I’m trained at Levels 1 and 2 in the Gottman Method, and that page walks through how the first sessions go and what they cost.

That’s the whole list. If what you’re dealing with isn’t on it, just ask on the consultation call. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit, and if I’m not, I’ll help you find someone who is.

When someone closer is the better answer

There are two situations where I’m probably not your best option, and I’d rather tell you now.

If you need sessions while you’re in DC, I can’t do that. I’m licensed in Maryland and Virginia, and what counts is where you are during the session, not where you live. Silver Spring is right on the DC line, so this comes up a lot here. If DC is where you’d realistically be during our sessions, you’ll want someone licensed there.

If the trip across the county will eventually keep you from coming, a therapist closer to Silver Spring is a better choice. This usually doesn’t show up in the first few weeks. It shows up later, once therapy stops feeling new and starts feeling like one more thing on the calendar. Going regularly matters more than who you see, so pick the option you’ll actually stick with.
