Young Adult Therapy in Rockville MD

Get help in navigating the challenges of adulthood.

Transitioning to adulthood comes with its own challenges.

Do you want the adventure to be more exciting rather than scary? I can help you with that!

What do you want your future to look like? What qualities do you want to possess so that you can tackle adulthood with full confidence?

Structure is a critical component in our life that keeps us grounded.  School has always provided structure throughout your life.  Now that school might be finished for you new challenges are presented. Structure provided stability without you even having to think about it.  Now you might be filled with a sense of loss or confusion.

Times are changing.  School, friend groups, your social environment, and dynamics with family members are changing.

Now, that structure is changing. There could be some loss as you leave school or friend groups. Your routine will be different.

On the one hand, you feel as though you are ready. You’ve been longing for independence. At the same time, you feel apprehensive about the change and the added responsibilities that come along with it. You have a choice about what comes next and how you want your life to unfold.

Thinking about the future and adulthood can be daunting. We can work together to be better prepared.

Young Adulthood can present many challenges.

Some of these challenges include:

  • Struggles with decision making especially since decisions have been made for you.
  • Maintaining friendships or just staying in touch with others.
  • Maintaining emotions in an ever-changing world.
  • Seeking out the best employment opportunities for yourself.

It is extremely common for young adults to struggle with these common challenges.  Sometimes it feels like you are the only one struggling because everyone posts online how great they are doing…I can assure you almost every young adult struggles with these same challenges at some point in their early adult years.

Feeling confident and empowered will help you develop into the adult you want to be.

How can I support you with your transition to adulthood.

One of the most important components of therapy is that you feel safe with your therapist to share your struggles, fears, vulnerabilities, hopes, and goals for the future.  I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where we can work without restrictions on achieving the goals you want for your future.

My approach is to use evidence based practices that are catered to your specific vision you have for your future. Together we will unlock your potential and create a the future you want to have.

I conduct therapy with a collaborative approach.  I want to meet you where you are at and work with you on creating your goals together.  We will work on creating goals based off your strengths and where you feel you want your future to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each individual therapy session lasts 50 minutes.

I believe in confidentiality, and that you, not your insurance company, should have input in what therapeutic services you should receive. As a result, I do not directly participate with insurance. I am out-of-network with insurance companies.

My fees are $225 for a 50 minute session.

I believe that it is important to get the most out of your insurance plan. Therefore, I will provide you with a receipt at the end of each appointment with which you should file with your insurance company for a reimbursement. The amount of the reimbursement varies with each insurance company. Please contact your insurance company directly prior to beginning therapy to determine the amount of reimbursement you will receive.

Insurance companies may be hard to navigate. Some questions that might help you when talking with your insurance company include: What are my out-of-network mental health insurance benefits? What is the coverage amount per therapy session? What will be my out of pocket cost including copay, co-insurance, and deductible?

All major credit cards. Credit Cards are stored on a secure platform and charged after the appointment.

All forms will be emailed to you to include a service agreement and some questionnaires. You just need to fill them out and click submit.
